Tim Gets the Boot On Idol Gives Back

Comeback kid got voted off last week, leaving 6 of the Idol hopefuls.

I’m not a Tim Urban fan, but I did like some of the songs he sang during the competition. One of which is the Beatles’ song that he did-- All My Loving, Hallelujah, and Come On Get Higher-- where Ellen even gave him a big hug on stage. Thinking about his first live show, I believe that he really got better as Idol progressed. He is charming, laidback, boy-next-door type. He has a nice voice, good musician. However, I didn’t see him much of an American Idol. When you’re on the show, you have to be all out, it should be A performance, you give the people a show. Although, Tim showed us that he was a fun performer, I liked him better singing chill songs with his guitar. I actually like the Goo Goo Dolls song that he sang-- Better Days but everyone was really trying hard to step it up. He has been in the bottom several times, and he has been given bad critiques from the judges, but what I love about him is that he just takes it all in, not being too much defensive, and he just gives all of us his big, charming smile. I’m gonna miss that.

So there’s 6 left in the competition. The favorites are very obvious.

Crystal Bowersox
She’s obviously one of the judges’ favorites, singing in a “different league” among everyone else. I didn’t like her in the beginning ‘cause she seems a bit weird. But I’m starting to like her now. Especially when she said that Lee and Andrew Garcia are gonna live happily ever after and have Danny Gowkey babies. (Hahahaha, oo nga! Puwede!)

Lee DeWyze
He’s a favorite too, and my bet for Idol. He’s kind of a shy-type, which I love about him. He’s keeps on getting better, and his gaining more confidence. Plus, I lovelovelove his taste in songs! When I see him, I remember Danny Gowkey and David Cook and I don’t know why, probably the Ds.

Siobhan Magnus
My girlfriends are going ga-ga over this girl. She’s their girl crush, and I think if they could, they would ask her to be their girlfriend. Lol. She’s also weird, punk (love that she got a Mohawk, love the tattoos but not the nose ring, love the clothes, love that she‘s different). She actually started out really, really good, but I don’t know what happened. I like her voice but sometimes it’s kind of nasal. I don’t like the screaming, you can belt out without screaming. She loves picking those big, popular songs, and that’s just - pressure, because you will always be compared to the original. The judges are kind of disappointed. I really hope that she gets on track again.

Casey James
I didn’t like his performance this week but he’s really gotten better over the weeks. He’s such a good musician, and I like his voice. Bummed out that his in the bottom 3. He just has to step it up, let it all out.

Michael Lynch
Big Mike’s really got it on. Lots of people said that it was too early to give the save. But it was really a gooooood save. 3 people got voted off already after Mike was saved. He wasn’t even in the bottom for the last 2 weeks. What an ego boost, although he doesn’t need more of that. I like his voice too, but he comes off as mayabang. I don’t know if you have noticed, but every time he’s told that he’s safe, he crosses his fingers, closes his eyes, breathes out. I think he’s not mayabang naman, pero gano’n lang ‘yung dating niya. Funny ‘cause Simon commented about the song Hero (I love that song), he thought of Spiderman. I know it’s in the soundtrack, benta lang niya talaga sakin. I hope he stays longer.

Aaron Kelly
He’s 16? so young. He has a nice voice. I hate it when he is compared to David Archuleta. Yeah, they got on the show when they were 16? But he’s NO Archuleta (David‘s die-hard fans are probably in raged with the comparison). I find it funny when he sings, ‘cause he sways in this weird, awkward, sort of cute way. Hehehe. But I think he also needs to step it up, because he keeps on doing the same thing over and over again, and it’s boring. If he doesn’t, I think he’s next to gooo.

I love the Idol Gives Back show. I love the Black Eyed Peas. I lovelovelove Alicia Keys. Damn, what a perfomance!!! But I didn’t like the part wherein, George Lopez and Wanda Sykes were making fun of Simon. (I love the other jokes though) Poor Simon, give him a break. I’ve been watching Idol since Fantasia’s season, season 3? And he’s been REALLY nice this year. Must be the loooooove:)

Anyway, I’m just so excited for next week! We’ll see what happens.

Just Love

You know the movie, If Only? If you haven’t watched it, then I don‘t know what I‘m gonna do to you, I can give you a copy or better yet, come to my house and we’ll watch it together :) It stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and this really cute Brit(I think) guy, Paul Nicholls.

You probably want to save the movie for some sappy bonding moments with your girlfriends so you guys can cry together, or with your boyfriend/girlfriend or your girl/guy bestfriend (whatever!) so the guy can watch the girl cry while her head’s resting on his shoulder. (100+ kilig points for you!):P

I’m not gonna make a review (although I think I will make kwento of the movie ALL THE TIME). I just wanted to share one of my favorite scenes which also plays a significant role in the movie. It’s the one with Ian, the lead guy, and the cab driver (their first scene together). Here’s how it goes…

Ian gets into this cab, and the driver kinda knows their having problems with their relationship (go figure, hahaha)
Cab Driver: .. And you’re having problems with you love life…
Ian: How in the world did you know that?
(I didn‘t understand much of what he said, but it kind of went like this-- Cab driver tells him, that being in his profession doesn’t mean, that he doesn’t know the problems of the heart )
Cab Driver: So, what’s the trouble?
Ian: Nah, don’t wanna talk about it.
Cab Driver: That’s a good idea, the thing will probably just fix itself. (I know, right?)
Ian: I can’t seem to make her happy… How can you love someone and not know how… how to love them?
Cab Driver: So, you do love her?
Ian: Yes, very much.
Cab Driver: Well, that’s all that matters.
Ian: She’s going away tomorrow, two weeks. She wants me to go with her.
Cab Driver: What if she never came back?
Ian: What sort of question is that?
Cab Driver: Come on, picture it. You wave goodbye at the airport, she gets on the airplane, you never see her again. Could you live with that?
Ian: No… No… I couldn’t.
Cab Driver: Well, you know what to do. Appreciate her, with what you have. Just love her.

This particular scene, never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Just thinking about the movie, makes me cry. It probably won’t make any sense to you, but it does for me, and that’s another story.

Got lots of reasons why I loooooooove this movie. And if you haven’t watched it yet, you have to.

I believe that each of us, deep inside, we just wanted to be loved, and make the people we truly care about FEEL that we do love them.

Sometimes it can really be hard to show how much we love someone, probably because of fear. Fear of rejection. Fear of getting hurt. Because sometimes, it isn’t reciprocated as much as we wanted to. --and that sucks

Sometimes, we love but we just can’t make them feel that we do. Fear of not knowing how. Fear of not knowing what’s gonna happen next. We overthink. We get scared. --and that sucks even more

How do you show someone that you love him/her?

Obviously, I’m NOOO expert on the subject.

Come to think of it, the cab driver pretty much said it already…
