You know the movie, If Only? If you haven’t watched it, then I don‘t know what I‘m gonna do to you, I can give you a copy or better yet, come to my house and we’ll watch it together :) It stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and this really cute Brit(I think) guy, Paul Nicholls.
You probably want to save the movie for some sappy bonding moments with your girlfriends so you guys can cry together, or with your boyfriend/girlfriend or your girl/guy bestfriend (whatever!) so the guy can watch the girl cry while her head’s resting on his shoulder. (100+ kilig points for you!):P
I’m not gonna make a review (although I think I will make kwento of the movie ALL THE TIME). I just wanted to share one of my favorite scenes which also plays a significant role in the movie. It’s the one with Ian, the lead guy, and the cab driver (their first scene together). Here’s how it goes…
Ian gets into this cab, and the driver kinda knows their having problems with their relationship (go figure, hahaha)
Cab Driver: .. And you’re having problems with you love life…
Ian: How in the world did you know that?
(I didn‘t understand much of what he said, but it kind of went like this-- Cab driver tells him, that being in his profession doesn’t mean, that he doesn’t know the problems of the heart )
Cab Driver: So, what’s the trouble?
Ian: Nah, don’t wanna talk about it.
Cab Driver: That’s a good idea, the thing will probably just fix itself. (I know, right?)
Ian: I can’t seem to make her happy… How can you love someone and not know how… how to love them?
Cab Driver: So, you do love her?
Ian: Yes, very much.
Cab Driver: Well, that’s all that matters.
Ian: She’s going away tomorrow, two weeks. She wants me to go with her.
Cab Driver: What if she never came back?
Ian: What sort of question is that?
Cab Driver: Come on, picture it. You wave goodbye at the airport, she gets on the airplane, you never see her again. Could you live with that?
Ian: No… No… I couldn’t.
Cab Driver: Well, you know what to do. Appreciate her, with what you have. Just love her.
This particular scene, never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Just thinking about the movie, makes me cry. It probably won’t make any sense to you, but it does for me, and that’s another story.
Got lots of reasons why I loooooooove this movie. And if you haven’t watched it yet, you have to.
I believe that each of us, deep inside, we just wanted to be loved, and make the people we truly care about FEEL that we do love them.
Sometimes it can really be hard to show how much we love someone, probably because of fear. Fear of rejection. Fear of getting hurt. Because sometimes, it isn’t reciprocated as much as we wanted to. --and that sucks
Sometimes, we love but we just can’t make them feel that we do. Fear of not knowing how. Fear of not knowing what’s gonna happen next. We overthink. We get scared. --and that sucks even more
How do you show someone that you love him/her?
Obviously, I’m NOOO expert on the subject.
Come to think of it, the cab driver pretty much said it already…
Just Love
Cab Driver: Well, you know what to do. Appreciate her, with what you have. Just love her.
